Customer Service Representative

CHICO, CA

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our BDC team. The primary responsibility of this role is to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, direct them to the correct department, and provide exceptional support to ensure a positive customer experience. As a representative of our company, you will be the first point of contact for customers, and therefore excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential. This position requires a proactive, customer-focused individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service via phone
- Handle incoming inquiries and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Transfer the customer to the proper department 
- Document customer interactions and inquiries, including details of complaints, comments, or suggestions, to improve service quality
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve more complex customer issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, and company policies to effectively address customer needs
- Uphold customer privacy and confidentiality by ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and continuously improve the customer service process
- Participate in training programs and meetings to develop and improve customer service skills

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree in a relevant field is a plus
- Proven work experience in a customer service role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional listening skills and empathy to understand customer needs
- Proficient in using customer service software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and data entry skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if required
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing customer demands
